At last, the search for totally precise time, everywhere on the planet, is over. By developing our own, patented, low-energy-consumption GPS receiver, Seiko has been able to create a watch that receives GPS signals and identifies the time zone, time and date data using the global network of GPS satellites. It recognizes all the time zones on earth.
Once a day, Seiko Astron receives the time signal automatically and, on demand, connects to four or more of the GPS satellites that orbit the earth, thus pinpointing its position and identifying the exact time and time zone. The hands adjust automatically to the correct local time with Atomic Clock precision. Astron is solar powered, so never need a battery change, and also has a perpetual calendar, so the date will always be accurate, up to February, 2100, irrespective of leap years. It also features an in-flight mode and a “Daylight Saving Time” function.
For 2014, The Astron collection is widened with a new and still more advanced caliber. In addition to all the existing features, the new Astron offers a chronograph and enhanced ease of operation, thanks to an electronic setting by crown that makes the use of Astron’s functions more intuitive and more fun! Most remarkably of all, the new Astron caliber is slimmer and smaller, and enhancement that makes possible an overall design that is even more comfortable to wear. Never before has time management been so simple or so in tune with the needs of those who travel. Wherever your life may take you, the Seiko Astron will keep you on time. Effortlessly.
